Valentine's Day Space Photo.

Maybe Mars, not Venus, is the planet of love. Malin Space Science Systems in our hometown of San Diego has this photograph of the heart-shaped crater on Mars. (Here.)Photo Credit: NASA/JPL/Malin Space Science Systems

Malin Space Science Systems and their Mars Orbital Camera onboard the Mars Global Surveyor have been photographing heart-shaped craters on the Martian surface since 1998. They haven't repeated one yet!

Plus the THEMIS instrument onboard the 2001 Mars Odyssey has also captured our heart with Valentine-shaped landform (this time a mesa) another image: http://themis.asu.edu/zoom-20060214a
