Bald Eagles Guarding Nest In San Diego.
These two bald eagles are nesting in a bare tree off Highway 76 near Lake Henshaw in the backcountry of San Diego County. This photo was taken on Thursday afternoon, March 20th, over the noon hour. The two raptors remained in the same position the entire time I was there, about 45 minutes. A very cool experience on a day off from work. (Click and zoom on photo to see the eagles more clearly. The second eagle is on the bottom branch to the right of the main trunk. I couldn't get closer than a few hundred yards due to a barbed wire fence and a sign warning of prosecution of trespassers. I suspect a trespassing conviction would be a bad thing for keeping my license to practice law. Time to buy a telephoto lens!)-tdr

The 2008 Democratic Campaign: The Gift That Keeps Giving.
It's been a treat to watch the Democrats tearing each other up over the Clinton-Obama campaign. Now the leftie jerks over at DailyKos are having at each other as well. It's apparently gotten so bad that a Clinton supporter is boycotting the site because of hostility from the pro-Obama contributors. Here's the best paragraph:

This is a strike - a walkout over unfair writing conditions at DailyKos. It does not mean that if conditions get better I won't "work" at DailyKos again. As a regular contributor to the discourse in our community, I would certainly hope to take part in the conversation at DailyKos again some day if we ever get to the point where we’re engaging each other in discussion rather than facing off in shouting matches. But not now. Writers need a safe place to reach out and exchange ideas, to communicate and challenge one another. DailyKos should be that place, but its tone, its essence has evolved into something ugly and destructive. Good writers can't survive in that kind of atmosphere. Democrats shouldn't have to put up with that from fellow Democrats. (Here.)But it's okay directed at Republicans, apparently. The tone of leftie blogs has long been ugly and destructive. It's nice to see the nutroots of the netroots unleashing their venom on each other.

Super Twosday Election Night.
Good news tonight! John McCain's sweep tonight appears to be putting him over the top and makes him the presumptive Republican nominee. I kind of like Mike Huckabee's inclusive rhetoric but it's time for him to let it go. John McCain is the Republican choice and Huckabee should accept reality.
On the other side the Democratic candidates continue to live in interesting times. Tonight appears to be a good night for Hillary Clinton as she is winning primaries and delegates keeping her campaign alive. The Democratic race for the nomination will not end until the convention and that's when the interesting times will really begin. There are all those disenfranchised voters in Michigan and Florida to contend with. Plus, there will be hundreds of politicians looking for reasons to cast their superdelegate super votes. The Democratic convention is going to be must see television.
Speaking of superdelegates, just what is the deal with CNN? Donna Brazile appears on CNN as a "CNN Contributor." She's a superdelegate. To her great credit, she's very much a straight shooter in her analysis. It's hard to tell which candidate she prefers. I've always had a lot of respect for her. I just don't understand why CNN doesn't identify her as a superdelegate when she is speaking.
